2018 Estate Red Blend "Night Owl"

Dark ruby red. The nose arrives with currants, minerality and then is followed closely by notes of the forest floor. The flavors are dense and packed but need quite a bit of air to reveal themselves. Blackberries, Christmas spice, and cherry flood the palate and float to the finish. The tannins are concentrated in the middle, then smooth and long on the finish. This wine will evolve and last for many years to come. – winemaker Anna Schafer Cohen notes
19+/20 points
Composed of 72% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 14% Petit Verdot, this exhibits a deep ruby color and seductive aromas of blackberries, black cherries, black plums and black currants, with scents of crushed roses, mulberry, sweet tobacco, forest carpet, violets and stick incense. On the palate, the flavors are well packed, yet refined, with notes of licorice, Swiss chocolate, French roast and till earth. The penetration continues on the back with macerated berries, roasted walnuts, mocha, graphite and light oak, followed by a lengthy firm yet ripe tannin finish. - Rand Sealy, Review of Washington Wines
