2005 Red Blend "The Callahan"

Columbia Valley
52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, and 2% Malbec
All French Oak
245 cases produced

The Callahan, otherwise known as Blend E, emerged from 37 different trial blends. This wine is a gorgeous blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Cabernet Franc, 17% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec. The wine's garnet color bleeds into a deep velvety purple around the edge. The delicate smell of rose petals is nicely framed by plum, cigar-box, and cassis. The wine's smooth richness rounded out in the mouth with elegant supple tannins. The plum and cherry notes really follow through making this wine subtle and meaty at the same time. The Callahan's back is strengthened with lingering chocolate-raspberry, truffle, and spicy tobacco undertones. This is a wine that benefits from decanting. Given time, this wine will become more generous and morph into a rich and complex mixture of dark exotic and dried fruit, with a long austere, silky finish.

2006 Chardonnay

Columbia Valley
Vineyards: Lewis, Willard, and Conner Lee

This brilliantly clear pale straw yellow wine displays the best of Washington Chardonnay. The bright fruit of pear, apricot, peach, slight citrus/citrus zest fills the nose with a floral quality of orange blossom and honey. In the mouth it is rich, creamy, medium plus acidity. The fruit makes it to the mouth with pear, apricot, and honey following through in the mouth. Carmel and cinnamon linger thru to the long finish.

2005 Malbec

There is something honest about Malbec. Malbec is true in the nose as it is in the mouth. A little toast from the barrel nestles between African passion fruit and huckleberries to give a wee hug to every taste bud. Our single vineyard Columbia Valley Malbec is passionate wine that is passionate about food. Enjoy with seasoned steaks, lamb, winter stews, and long nights in front of the fire.

2005 Merlot (Sold Out)

Columbia Valley
25 cases produced. One Barrel

This Merlot is a Cab in sheep’s clothing. When I first asked Ned how he would describe the Merlot he said…"AWESOME." Then he had this to say, "Briar berry, cherry, and dark fruits including hints of blueberry, cassis and stewed rhubarb. Nice smooth oak integration with lovely toasty oak character including saddle leather and pipe tobacco, coming from the single French barrel. Nice Medium plus acidity and great structure. Long supple lingering finish- very generous." Then I said, "Radical."

2006 Viognier (Sold Out)

Vineyards: Columbia Valley Appellation
All neutral barrel fermented and aged

Liquid sunlight is the best way to describe our 2006 Viognier. The nose is a beautiful honeysuckle, baby powder and citrus zest. Our Viognier enters the mouth to slowly releasing tropical fruit flavors. This dry wine has hints of pineapple upside down cake, mango and apricot. The great acidity makes this wine very food friendly.

2005 Syrah (Sold Out)

Columbia Valley Appellation
100% Syrah from Lewis Vineyard
Allier barrels 32% new, 78% one year old or more

Our 2005 Syrah we describe as our gentle giant. It has a beautiful black red color. The oak dances with the dark fruits in the nose to create a spiced pipe tobacco. When our syrah enters the mouth, it lifts the palette to express deep dark plum, black berry and lavender notes.

2005 Columbia Valley Chardonnay

Vineyards: Lewis, Willard, and Conner Lee
396 cases produced

At the first approach to this glass of wine, one smells the delicate structure of Allier oak complimenting the Lewis, Willard and Conner Lee minerality. It swirls together and creates a dusty, flinty back drop to the vibrant apple blossoms and apricots. It floats down the mouth with balanced acidity with no buttery characteristics. It leaves the mouth with a fresh coating of apricot and pear.

One sniff of our 2004 Premier Blend exposes the loud minority member, Malbec; with only three percent, the Malbec of our blend adds the spice in the nose and palate.
